The Charles Winston, Sr. Memorial Community Food Bank and its
forerunner S.U.P. (Serving the Under-Privileged) are food assistance
programs aimed at helping people from our communities from children
to seniors and working families.
Our
Food Bank serves the following areas: Hillman, Grasselli, Riley,
Brownsville, Brighton, & South Bessemer

is distributed between the hours of 10:00am - 3:00pm or until
food runs out.

RED CROSS DIASTER CENTER
PHI,
utilizing the Community Family Center as its physical structure,
is a designated Red Cross Diaster Center. Key individuals have
received community disaster education, disaster preparation
and diaster response service training consistent with the mission
of the Red Cross. Recent apartment fires, resulting in displaced
families, demanded the execution of the formalized plans and
training received by staff.

HOMEOWNERSHIP COUNSELING PROGRAM
Project
Hopewell, Inc collaborated with Charity Realty, Inc. to provide
a homeownership counseling program. This program has helped
clients address their credit history in preparation for applying
for a loan, selecting a home, closing the purchase, making mortage
payments and addressing home repairs. Their goal is to create
knowledable consumers, determine creditworthiness, and make
the homeownership process easier by reducing the number of potential
challenges that buyers face in the are.
